Using the same cone spacing, the player advances two cones, then retreats one, continuing up-two-back-one down the line — always stopping on the same foot each time and keeping the ball tucked behind the hip for protection. Builds the retreat dribble specifically: getting a controlled, single dribble back to the previous cone before immediately transitioning forward again, rather than losing momentum on the change of direction.
